How do you screen your home caregivers?

Even before the interview process begins our caregivers are given a comprehensive screening pre-interview which includes a skills assessment, health review and other pertinent requirements.

Once we determine they are a viable candidate then the interviewing and hiring process may begin. As a licensed residential service agency by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Health Care Quality, we have high standards. We follow all hiring guidelines. In addition, we take extra steps including conducting a national and local criminal background check and making sure that all employment & character references are verified.

Another important hiring decision is our applicants that have had previous experience nursing or caring for another person and possesses personal qualities such as respect, integrity, honesty, and sound judgment. These values are the foundation of our agency.

Many of our caregivers drive. If your needs include transportation please call us and let us know.

In most cases we can start service the same day. If you have a family member who is hospitalized, had a recent fall, increased agitation, their medical condition has declined, we can help.

We can accommodate changes to the schedule however the more consistent the schedule the more likely you will have the same caregiver.

If a caregiver is unable to make it to their assignment, we will arrange for a substitute caregiver.

Yes, in fact, we have established relationships with reputable long-term care insurance companies and provide service to their clients. We will be happy to assist you in filing claims. Also, we will accept an assignment of benefits and complete the paperwork to file for you.
